about
Here's a special Halloween trick we played on "Whiskey Spider," a tune on our debut CD.
lyrics
The Pumpkin Spider
Well if you want a scary story, then I’ll tell you of my worst,
It started in the twilight of October Thirty-first.
I get freaked-out by costumed children begging on my street,
So sipping pumpkin whiskey is my grown-up trick-or-treat.
Oh, yes, I take some pumpkin whiskey and I pour it in a flask
And sip all night so I can deal with ghouls in spooky masks,
But unbeknownst to me was something worse than I could think,
An evil, poison critter had been swimming in my drink,
And he drank . . . and he grew . . . and when I drank . . . I never knew . . .
Yes, the Whiskey Spider bit me, and when the venom hit me,
I saw things that you never would believe,
I had the devil at my side, I swear to God, I thought I’d died,
Oh, dear lord, what a tangled web I weave.
I had no idea the foul arachnid was afloat
And when I took a swallow, he stung me in the throat!
It felt just like a pinprick, but then began to burn,
I started feeling dizzy and the room began to turn.
The poison, deep inside me, began to paralyze,
I couldn’t move a muscle, and blackness filled my eyes,
Nausea, ache, and fever were all that I could feel,
Careening through depths of Hell on wicked Fortune’s wheel.
Yes, the Whiskey Spider bit me, and when the venom hit me,
I saw things that you never would believe,
I had the devil at my side, I swear to God, I thought I’d died,
Oh, dear lord, what a tangled web I weave.
I cannot take that chance again, I will not drink the pure,
For Whiskey Spider venom, I do not know the cure,
Before you drink the pumpkin whiskey, see your glass is clean,
Or you’ll be tricked, not treated, like I was on Halloween!
Oh, the Whiskey Spider bit me, and when the venom hit me,
I saw things that you never would believe,
I had the devil at my side, I swear to God, I thought I’d died,
Oh, dear lord, what a tangled web I weave.
